Let me once again talk about a singer-lady named Aimer who almost never disappoints me with her works. The way Aimer, along with her team called 'aimerrhythm' and a numbers of professional composers who did projects with her, tend to wrote songs about the sky, sleepless night, stars, and hidden sadness did impress me in certain ways. Yeah, perfectly filled my melancholic side XD
From single to single, album to album, she keeps her pace and pulls her unique concept tightly. Moreover, she haven't revealed her full-face until now. lol. That's what I like about this girl, the way she try to convinced that music is all about melody, harmony, rhythm, and the dwelt messages lying behind. No matter the visualization is, her emotion dissolved through the songs.
So, now.. I'm gonna write my opinion about one of her song that stuck in my head these.... nearly a year *as far as I could remember*
So, now.. I'm gonna write my opinion about one of her song that stuck in my head these.... nearly a year *as far as I could remember*
One thing that could be noticed on Aimer songs is, it contain that 'It's okay to feel lonely, it's okay to hide what you didn't use to say, you will be allright anyway' message. Somehow, those emotion ruined your mind and turn you into a sleepless night. Even it's psychologically proven that missing somebody could lead someone to be suffered from insomnia.
Aimer just defined it well, on one of her song called AM02:00 :)
Let's go deeper!
There are two version of this song. The original version, which listed on her 1st album titled 'Sleepless Nights' (2012), and the Remix version that released in the following year on her mini-album 'After Dark' (2013). The one that stuck in my head was the remix version.
This remix version of AM02:00 was a collaboration between Aimer and composer Haruka Nakamura, under the title 'AM02:00 (Haruka Nakamura La Nuit Remix)'. Haruka Nakamura known as a composer who had specialization on spirit-relaxing instrumentals. In this project with Aimer, he composed the music based on AM02:00 original version and modified it in a very different way.
*Well, I'm not an expert in music but I'll try to explain it as good as I can hehee*
The result is a song with mellow tune, but still had a striking rhythm *what am I talking about?*. I mean, this song is kind of calm and soft, but still the blend of violins, acoustic guitar and bass *plus, of course Aimer with her husky voice* lighten it up. Very very beautiful song, if I could say it. Literally a nice one to be heard before you go sleep.
The original version of AM02:00, the one which included on the album Sleepless Nights, was an R'nB song with autotunes added in some parts. In my opinion, it feels like the lyric wasn't fit well with the music, since the lyric was somewhat gloomy and painful *but after you repeat the song over again, it becomes cozy and addictive lol*
In the following year, the remix version released and suits the lyric more and more.. But still, the original version is a pleasing song, too.
Then.. Why do I like this song that much?
The first time I heard it, honestly, the intro part was frighten me out. That was Aimer's voice echoing all around, resembling as her voice was blown away by the cold wind of midnight (lately, I noticed that Haruka Nakamura inserted that kind of echoes mostly on his releases). Then, her husky voice come along with the blend of Haruka Nakamura's remix. I didn't get into this song the first time I hear it, but the chorus part was pretty astonishing. Next time I heard this song, it keep refraining in my head.
It was the lyric that made this song full of feeelsss. Maybe it's just me who being exaggerated, but the lyric was really straightforward, honest, and innocent yet powerful. You can see the full lyric here. It's all about somebody who's missing someone, but it just couldn't be said and that feeling lead her into a sleepless night. Yeah, as simple as that and this song slays me away :)))
So the main reason why do I like this song are... the beautiful music arrangement that covered the whole lyrics and the way Aimer sing it emotionally.
The way she said "watashi wa mada koko ni iru 'soba ni itai' tte iezu ni, nemurezuni"
The way she sing "aenai yoru no konna kimochi wo nurashiteiku.. so let it rain"
The way she revealed "kimi wo omou koto ga doushite kanashiku naru no?"
And of course, the most striking part that explains all "you don't know really how I feel. you don't know really what I feel. I miss you, really"
She did sounds like she's really meant it, painfully hurt.
I couldn't express it well and probably the way I wrote this review was kinda dull and exaggerating. But whenever I play this song, feels like I want to recommend it to others.
So if you're curious enough, try to listen this track :)
Thank you.. Sorry for my awful English. Next time I'll try my best ^^
